Who is the Wisbech Community Development Trust?

The Wisbech Community Development Trust is a charity organisation, which was set up in November 2001, to manage the Oasis Community Centre.  The new Centre was built in March 2005 and is available to the whole community.

The Trust is made up of 13 Trustees, 9 of these are local residents and 4 are representatives from strategic organisations, one from Fenland District Council (FDC), NHS, College of West Anglia (CWA) and Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC).  The Trustees employ staff to do the day-to-day running of the Centre and they oversee that this happens to the benefit of the community.

What can you expect at the Oasis Community Centre?

Our main aim is to provide facilities to groups, organisations and individuals for either meetings, training, learning, workshops, activities or social events.   The rooms available for hire are a large hall (which can be divided into 2), two large meeting rooms, IT Suite, four small meeting rooms and a fully equipped kitchen.  We also have a fully licensed bar in the hall, therefore making this the perfect venue for any party.  All our rooms are also available for hire evenings and weekends and there is always a caretaker or member of staff on site to look after your needs.  This also gives your groups some extra security.

We also apply for grants to put on various group workshops, learning opportunities or family fun days, which we are then able to offer free to the local community.  Please go to Whats on page to see when the next workshops or family fun days are.

All our income comes from the hiring out of our facilities and the small grants we secure for specific projects, we do not receive any core funding from any organisations.
